NEW REPORT: While Lombardo Bends the Knee, Trump’s Policies Jack Up Nevada’s Utility and Fuel Costs
As Joe Lombardo continues to take orders from his “commanding officer” Donald Trump, a new report shows that Nevada households will pay an additional $11 billion for energy thanks to Trump’s cost-raising policies, an average of $720 per household by 2035.
While Lombardo said Nevadans should be “excited” about Trump’s budget bill, these federal cuts will gut 2,200 jobs per year on average over the next decade. Nevada has already lost 1,200 clean energy jobs since January 2025.
Trump’s endless war with Iran — that Lombardo was quick to back — has also jacked up Nevada families’ utility bills as fuel costs reach a record high. This comes as Data Center Joe funneled over $240 million of Nevadans’ tax dollars to big data center companies, jacking up Nevadans’ utility and water bills even more.
Energy Innovation: Nevada Economic, Consumer Cost, and Pollution Impacts of Federal Energy Policy Changes

- Cutting policies that drive transportation sector innovation and efficiency will inflate gasoline prices in Nevada 17 percent in 2035 and 32 percent in 2040, atop upward pressure from the Iran war.
- OBBBA and federal cuts to domestic manufacturing and innovation will cost Nevada’s economy 2,200 jobs per year on average over the next decade, in addition to the 1,200 clean energy jobs lost since January 2025.
